Blogging Rules from an Amature Blogger

May this blog space bring good fruit ;)
Recently I've been thinking about starting to blog on a normal basis...  so if I'm going to start blogging regularly then I need to come up with something to write about. That's usually a good idea, yea? So that's step one: write about an interesting topic.

God has given me a huge burden for the orphans, I could write about that!

It's just a tad bit difficult to be transparent and vulnerable on the web. I don't know who reads this or what their intentions are for reading. Curiosity? Wanting to find something to pick at? My friend that just wants to keep updated with me? Who knows! What I do know is that I read a lot of blogs that really encourage, inspire, and convict me. And if I could be one of those things, just to one person through this blog, then hey what the heck! Why not write regularly! (And if this little space on the internet doesn't encourage you then don't tell me ok?) ;) Step two: Be transparent.
We could talk about real issues.
Or we can talk about what we like to read?
What should step three be? I need a step three. You can't have a step one and a step two without a step three. Unwritten rule. Well it's written now. Anyways, when I read blogs I love it when the post includes pictures... so how about that! Step three: Take awesome pictures and post them on your blog. Disclaimer: I take pretty awesome pictures so beware.

Love a sunset surprise from God

Step four: Admit that you have no idea what you're doing or if you're cool enough to blog.

OK I feel better having that said. In high school they made me cut up my cool card, that's my justification. It's non-retrievable so bear with me. With that said I invite you to join me on this journey (I don't know how long it'll last, my blogging track record sucks) of God's grace and love as I'm a witness to all He does in this life He gave me. If this isn't about Him then there is no point to this.

God Says YOU Fill His Mind

Today I woke up later than usual as today was a late start for the school I work in. I slept in till 8:30! Glory! Still sleepy, I walked downstairs and began to make my coffee for the day. While drinking coffee and eating my breakfast I like to journal during that time. The notebook is where I write to God, it is my way of communicating to Jesus. He hears me wherever and whenever, I believe this but I also believe that there are tools that can aid one in prayer and growing their affections for Christ. And by all means us them if they help keep your eyes on Jesus! Writing down my prayers helps me stay focused as well as pour out my heart. After that this morning I read one page from "Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing" by Sally Lloyd-Jones called God's little finger. Such a short children's devotion really captivated my heart. I marvel at the grace of God that has been lavished upon me. Here is the story from her book, read it and see what I mean :)

And yet God says you fill his mind. -Sally Lloyd Jones

Why? What for? What's the point? I can't explain why he chooses to love me so unconditionally, but I can say that it is the greatest joy being loved by God.

Through everything, HE LOVES ME and HE THINKS ABOUT ME.

He thinks about YOU! HE loves YOU.

Let this truth never become old to you, ponder it and find joy in it.

Such a simple truth this morning gave me the energy I needed to go about my day and give glory to the one who gave me another day. I am so small in comparison to the universe, which is so small to God. Seeing myself so tiny and knowing that God loves me and thinks about me makes everything else that goes wrong during the day insignificant. What else can I do but thank Him for redemption?

Life has been so busy lately with school, work, and trying to stay involved in my families and friend's life. Sometimes it's easy to feel like I'm sinking under it all but to know that God's thoughts are on me and that He sees exactly what's happening, brings me peace. I am not alone. You're not alone either if you're saved.

This is most likely nothing new to you, you probably heard this many times in many different forms. But dear Christian would you bring your cares to him tonight? For He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

You fill his mind, of course He wants to hear everything that is on your heart... come boldly to the throne of grace where you can find mercy and grace in your time of need. Hebrews 4:16

As you go about your day today or tomorrow (depending on when you're reading this) rest in the fact that not once do you escape His mind. And I'll do the same.

Glory be to Christ our King.
